Job summary

Atlas Search is seeking a Desktop Support / IT Support Specialist for our NYC-based IT team. This hands-on, fully onsite role supports end users with desktop hardware, software, access, and day-to-day technical issues.

The ideal candidate enjoys troubleshooting, direct user interaction, and owning a wide range of IT requests in a fast-paced environment. 1–3 years in desktop support and strong AD/Windows/M365 knowledge are preferred.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Windows workstations and end users.
• Familiarity with Active Directory user/group administration and permissions.
• PowerShell for basic troubleshooting or automation.
• Experience with endpoint management or patching tools (KACE/SCCM/Intune).
• Strong communication skills and professional, service-oriented approach.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on and remote technical support for Windows workstations and end users.
• Troubleshoot Windows 10/11, Microsoft 365, Outlook, Teams, Excel Add-ins, and other business applications.
• Install, configure, and troubleshoot business, developer, and specialized applications.
• Support users through walk-ups, phone, email, chat, and the service desk.
• Manage Active Directory accounts for hires, departures, and role changes.
• Administer security groups, distribution lists, and shared-folder permissions.
• Handle password resets, account lockouts, and MFA enrollment.
• Follow security, access-control, and IT policies.
• Patch workstation clients with KACE and assist with server patching.
• Track patch compliance and remediate endpoint vulnerabilities.
• Assist with imaging, deployment, upgrades, and decommissioning.
• Maintain hardware/software inventory records.
• Provide basic remote/networking troubleshooting and VPN/RDP support.
• Build and maintain Bloomberg terminals and trading-floor tech.
• Support Visual Studio, VS Code, SQL Server Management Studio, and scheduling tools.
• Assist with AI-assisted workstation integrations.
