Job summary

Group One Trading is seeking a Desktop Engineer Intern to join our New York office immediately, onsite. The role offers an hourly rate of $35 and a minimum commitment of 25 hours per week, with structured onboarding and hands-on exposure to systems and IT operations relevant to high-paced trading environments.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a BS, MS, or Ph.D. program in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Coursework or hands-on experience with Windows operating systems and basic computer hardware.
• Introductory understanding of networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP.
• Exposure to or interest in scripting or automation (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Bash, or similar).
• Interest in systems, infrastructure, desktop engineering, and enterprise IT operations.

Responsibilities

• Complete your orientation and become familiar with our environment, infrastructure, and business.
• Learn how the Systems, Desktop, and Application Support teams work together to support traders and internal users.
• Begin a structured training plan covering system monitoring, user support workflows, and core infrastructure concepts.
• Get introduced to basic scripting and automation concepts used to support operational tasks.
