Job summary

Cognizant in Houston, TX is seeking a Deskside Support Engineer to maintain desktops, notebooks, printers and mobile devices onsite. The role requires 1–5 years' experience, strong communication, and the ability to produce weekly reports and manage inventories.

You will handle hardware break-fix, on-site spares, installations, and escalation handling while delivering excellent customer service and coordinating with suppliers and end users. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Qualifications

• 1–5 years of experience with desktops, workstations, notebooks and similar devices.
• Strong communication and customer management skills.
• Ability to provide weekly reports, inventory management, and supplier coordination.
• Experience with Windows desktop OS and Office apps.
• Visa sponsorship not available for this role.

Responsibilities

• Provide hardware break fix support via whole unit swap.
• Manage on-site spares.
• Provide deskside support.
• Execute installations and changes.
• Deliver excellent customer service.
• Follow defined processes and manage escalations.
• Interface with end users, management, VIPs, and staff.
• Troubleshoot across Macintosh, Windows, Linux, and mobile devices.
• Configure networks: LAN, WAN, Wireless, VPN, VLAN.
• Asset tagging and entering equipment into asset management system.
• Provide weekly inventory and outflow reports.
• Coordinate repairs with external suppliers.
