Job summary

E2 Optics in Omaha, NE is hiring a Project Engineer to lead field and project engineering activities in data center environments. You will develop training materials, manage contracts, and coordinate with cross‑functional teams to ensure safety, quality, and on‑time delivery.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Construction/PM/Engineering and 3–5 years of cabling design experience, with PMP/RCDD or equivalent certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Project Management or Engineering.
• 3-5 years experience in structure cabling design.
• RCDD (BICSI: Registered Communications Distribution Design).
• Applicable Project Management Certification.
• Strong leadership, communication, influencing and collaborative skills.
• Experience with large data center construction and design is preferred.
• Documented designer skills and familiarity with construction technology.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety policies and procedures on site.
• Promote core values to sustain a family‑centric culture.
• Develop and refine data center training, SOPs, and work instructions.
• Provide field and project engineering, quality control, and contract administration support.
• Manage change orders including administration, pricing, submission, and tracking.
• Assist in establishing construction plan and engineering methods per scope.
• Provide training on test equipment systems and procedures.
• Establish methods for field testing and monitor testing quality.
• Coordinate closeout with test reports, redlines, as‑built drawings, warranties.
• Coordinate drawings, submissions, changes, and document control.
• Manage contracts: scope, inquiries, progress, closeout.
• Coordinate with teams to design temporary works for cabling installations.
• Oversee inventory control of test equipment and label printing resources.
