Job summary

E2 Optics in Omaha, NE is seeking a Data Center Infrastructure Technician to support cabling, testing, and patch panel work in cutting-edge data center environments.

You’ll follow safety protocols, assist senior technicians, and gain hands-on experience with fiber and Cat5e/Cat6 cabling, RJ45 terminations, and basic UPS and power distribution tasks. This role offers growth, training, and a collaborative team culture.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience testing equipment and cabling; building racks/cabinets; terminating onto patch panels.
• Familiar with RJ45 terminations and punch-downs.
• Ability to read and understand English; bilingual a plus.
• OSHA 10 certification required within first 2 weeks.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety policies and client site safety procedures.
• Pull, dress, and label cabling (Cat5e/Cat6) per standards.
• Begin RJ45 terminations and patch panel work under guidance.
• Assist in labeling and cable identification.
• Learn basic punch-downs for telecom blocks.
• Support cable testing with basic tools under supervision.
• Gain exposure to fiber cable dressing and handling.
• Maintain a clean, organized work environment.
• Take direction from senior technicians and supervisors.
