Job summary

Fidelity Investments in Morrisville, NC is seeking an Electrical Shift Engineer to support a 7x24 data center engineering team. The role focuses on hands-on maintenance, coordinating with vendors, and maintaining critical power and cooling systems to prevent business impact.

Effective communication, knowledge of HVAC/electrical systems, and OSHA compliance are essential. The position offers overtime, shift differential, and a yearly bonus as part of the compensation package.

Qualifications

Electrical license and EPA certification required; 3+ years of trade experience.
Ability to read construction prints, submittals, and O&M manuals.
Experience with maintenance in data center or critical facilities preferred.

Responsibilities

Coordinate inspections, testing, calibration, and repairs with staff and vendors.
Direct third-party vendors to augment in-house resources and supervise on-site work.
Maintain infrastructure operations to prevent unauthorized access and risk.
Oversee preventive and remedial maintenance for power, cooling, and safety systems.
Prepare daily logs and document issues with timely closures.
Perform site rounds and ensure accurate completion of tasks.
Switch to standby generators and bypass UPS when alarms occur, following procedures.
Operate fire detection/suppression systems and follow safety protocols.
Adhere to OSHA regulations and protect personnel and property.
Support ISO-14001/27001 compliance and regulatory reporting.
