Job summary

Black Box in Abilene, TX is seeking a Data Center Senior Construction Manager to own onsite execution from planning through commissioning on large-scale cabling projects. You will lead field teams of 100+ and ensure safety, schedule, and quality while coordinating with project management and client stakeholders.

This senior role requires deep technical expertise in fiber, structured cabling, and low voltage systems, with a focus on operational excellence.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
3-5+ years of supervisory experience on large-scale structured cabling or data center construction projects.
Experience managing large, dispersed field teams (100+).
Data center new build or retrofit experience strongly preferred.
Experience working with union telecom crews and labor compliance preferred.
Preferred certifications: OSHA30, BICSI Technician (TECH), BICSI RCDD.

Responsibilities

Lead, mentor and develop field teams of 100+ personnel.
Own safety as priority and enforce accident-free safety culture.
Drive development and implementation of project plans, installation strategies and site logistics.
Maintain and manage 5-week lookahead schedules, labor forecasts and daily progress.
Oversee testing, commissioning, and quality assurance per standards.
