Job summary

Southland Industries, Inc. is seeking a Safety Coordinator to support the Division Safety Program, ensuring compliance with company, state, and federal safety requirements across job sites.

You will partner with field teams and leadership to promote a proactive safety culture and coordinate safety activities, inspections, and training. The role requires a minimum of 2+ years in construction safety, a safety degree or related experience, and certifications such as CHST/ASP; CPR/First Aid and OSHA

Qualifications

• 2+ years as a Safety professional in a construction environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Health or Environmental Applied Sciences required or related strong construction safety experience.
• CHST, ASP or other BCSP certifications would be ideal and preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certifications are required.
• OSHA 30hr training required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections of job sites to verify compliance with company policies and OSHA regulations; prepare reports for supervisors and safety management.
• Document safety inspections, identify dangerous areas and recommend corrective procedures.
• Maintain documentation related to safety issues including accident reports and training logs; review daily job hazard logs.
• Provide emergency response and assistance to employees as needed.
• Assist with accident and injury investigations and prepare documentation for regulatory reporting.
