Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Construction Project Engineer for our Peoria, AZ site. This on-site role supports field and office teams, coordinating documentation, procurement, and project setup for commercial and large-scale projects.

You will leverage Procore and Bluebeam, read drawings, and assist with RFIs, submittals, and change orders to maintain project momentum. The position is contract-to-hire, with a pay range of $38.00–$55.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• Experience in construction, preferably commercial or with a general contractor or architectural subcontractor.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, plans, and specifications.
• Understanding of construction materials, methods, and basic workflows.
• Familiarity with RFIs, submittals, contracts, change orders, and related documentation.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
• Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, or similar platforms.
• Experience with project management and coordination activities.
• Experience supporting estimation, quantity takeoffs, and materials analysis.
• Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work with field and office teams.
• Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
• Reliability and strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Create, manage, and track RFIs, submittals, change orders, and other construction documentation using Excel and project management software.
• Support quantity takeoffs, estimating activities, and materials analysis for assigned scopes of work.
• Coordinate daily activities between office teams and field leadership, assisting the Project Manager and Superintendent with communication and scheduling.
• Read and interpret blueprints, plans, specifications, and construction documents to support decision-making.
• Assist with procurement activities, including document logs and status reports for timely material delivery.
• Maintain accurate documentation prioritizing correctness and clarity.
• Communicate proactively with subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams to clarify requirements and resolve issues.
• Assist with project setup including document organization and jobsite logistics.
• Support project closeout with organized documentation and filing.
• Use Microsoft Office and construction tools like Procore and Bluebeam to manage information and reporting.
• Contribute to project coordination for commercial and large-scale projects, especially in advanced industries.
• Demonstrate strong communication and attention to detail while supporting a fast-paced team.
