Job summary

IFAB Engineering Partners LP invites a Junior or Senior pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management to join as a Construction Manager Intern/Co-Op at our Coopersville, MI site. The role involves coordinating subcontractors, safety programs, schedules and budgets across food and beverage process facilities.

You will engage with owners, subs, and A/E teams, develop project scopes, and support procurement, reporting, and start-up activities.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field.
• GPA of 3.0 or above required.
• Familiarity with design-build construction method preferred.
• Fundamental understanding of overseeing subcontractors and project scheduling.
• Strong communication, organizational, managerial and presentation skills.
• Past internship or site experience in industrial building projects is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist project management with developing and updating scopes, budgets, and schedules.
• Handle project accounting, budgeting, and cost management.
• Establish and maintain site safety procedures with the safety team.
• Support installations of process, mechanical, and utility equipment.
• Assist with permitting, code and regulatory administration.
• Coordinate field engineering and inspections.
• Support third-party testing and subcontractor relationships.
• Collaborate with owners, subs, officials, and A/E teams to keep projects on track.
• Conduct jobsite walks/audits to verify progress and adherence to plans.
• Coordinate facility start-up and project close-out activities.
• Prepare project reports and logs for stakeholders.
• Facilitate communication among project participants and partners.
