Job summary

Fortis Construction, Inc. is seeking a motivated Project Engineering Intern to gain hands-on experience on live construction projects. The role involves shadowing on-site teams and acting as a liaison among subcontractors, design staff and management.

You will assist with procurement, document control, RFI management, change orders and safety audits while developing professional communication and organizational skills on a busy construction site.

Qualifications

• Must be actively enrolled as a college student.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word).
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Authorized to work in the U.S. without Visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Project Engineer on the jobsite, liaising between subcontractors, design team, inspectors and the project manager to facilitate a safe, coordinated construction project.
• Own specific scopes from drawings through subcontractor buyout, construction, startup, commissioning and turnover.
• Support procurement, document control, RFI management, change orders, contracts administration, issue resolution, safety auditing, and field coordination.
