Job summary

Asset Living is seeking an Assistant Community Manager to oversee daily operations and finance functions at the housing community under the Community Manager. You will manage rent collection, accounting, and staff performance to optimize cash flow and ensure policy compliance.

Onsite leadership duties include leasing, maintenance oversight, and risk management. Applicants should have a High School Diploma (Bachelor’s preferred) and strong customer service, leadership, and Fair Housing knowledge.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree preferred or two years experience in housing industry.
• Ability to understand and perform all onsite software functions; basic computer skills required.
• Must have basic knowledge of Fair Housing Laws and OSHA requirements.

Responsibilities

• Post payments and income from applicants and residents accurately and timely.
• Reconcile daily accounts receivable.
• Monitor and follow up on bad debt; send late notices and manage evictions.
• Help property meet budgeted revenues and Net Operating Income.
• Post charges to resident accounts and bill back utilities where applicable.
• Perform end-of-month close procedures and reporting.
• Maintain accurate records; audit resident files.
• Walk units and post move-out charges and security deposits refunds.
• Supervise onsite staff; screen, hire, train, coach, and develop staff.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety, and fair housing guidelines.
• Oversee leasing management and ensure closures follow procedures.
• Implement marketing strategies per annual plan.
• Address resident complaints and implement retention programs.
• Show, lease, and move-in prospective residents.
