Job summary

Komatsu is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer/Programmer III to provide CNC programming support and manufacturing engineering for machining operations, focusing on safety, quality, productivity, cost, and on-time delivery. You will analyze drawings, set up sheets, tooling, and feeds for boring bars and horizontal machining centers, while guiding operators and supporting capital projects.

Qualifications

BS engineering or equivalent; Journeyman status or 5 years machining trades experience may substitute.
Minimum 4 years manufacturing experience.
Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and process data.
Experience creating CNC programs and working with machining centers.

Responsibilities

Provide technical assistance to Manufacturing Engineering and Manufacturing teams.
Analyze drawings and specifications to determine cuts, select tooling, and create programs and process sheets for Boring Bar and Horizontal Machining Centers.
Support capital projects and prepare appropriation requests as needed.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement improvements.
Develop new and improved manufacturing methods (DFMA).
Identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve productivity, safety, quality, and on-time delivery.
