Job summary

OPW, a Dover Corporation company, is seeking a Setup Technician for our Whitsett, NC facility. The role involves start-to-finish setup of manual, CNC, and mill/lathe machines to fabricate valve and regulator parts, with emphasis on accuracy, safety, and process discipline.

Overtime may be required; schedule is Monday-Thursday, 3:00 pm to 1:00 am. You will read blueprints, run machines, perform quality checks with calipers and gauges, and document SPC data while addressing defects and machine

Qualifications

• Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, and shop math.
• Ability to read mechanical blueprints and symbols.
• Strong attention to detail and safety consciousness.
• Ability to lift 45 pounds and perform repetitive tasks.

Responsibilities

• Set up manual/CNC and mill/lathe machines to produce valve and regulator parts.
• Start machines, position workpieces, and manage feeding, cooling, and lubrication.
• Read blueprints and verify dimensions with calipers and gauges.
• Perform quality checks, collect measurements, and document data in SPC system.
• Perform minor machine maintenance and troubleshoot simple malfunctions.
• Support 6S and Kaizen initiatives to improve safety and efficiency.
