Job summary

OPW, a Dover Corporation brand, is seeking a Setup Technician for our Whitsett, NC facility. You will perform start-to-finish setups of manual and CNC machines to manufacture valve and regulator parts, reading blueprints and verifying critical dimensions with calipers and gauges.

Strong math skills, precision, and safety awareness are essential. The role requires adaptability, teamwork, and willingness to participate in continuous improvement initiatives like 6S/Kaizen, with overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, and basic shop mathematics.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints.
• Experience with manual and CNC machining operations is desirable.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.

Responsibilities

• Set up manual and CNC machines to produce valve and regulator parts per specifications.
• Start machines, secure workpieces, and manage feeding, cooling, and lubrication.
• Read blueprints and identify features like concentricity and dimensions.
• Detect and contain defects, troubleshoot machine malfunctions, and adjust as needed.
• Replace tooling, deburr parts, and perform quality checks with calipers and gauges.
• Enter QC data and participate in 6S and Kaizen initiatives for safety and efficiency.
