Job summary

The AMES Companies in Ocala, FL is seeking a skilled Machinist to operate CNC and manual machines, read blueprints, and produce precise metal parts. You will set up tools, adjust speeds, and inspect parts for quality in a collaborative shop environment.

Responsibilities include reading technical drawings, selecting tools, troubleshooting equipment, and participating in equipment rebuilding. Overtime may be required as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 3+ years of machinist experience.
• Blueprint reading experience is required.
• Metalworking and CAD/CAM knowledge is required.
• Skilled with welding and cutting tools.
• Programming and operation of CNC machines required.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC and manual machines to produce precision metal parts.
• Read blueprints and schematics to ensure tolerances.
• Set up machine tools (lathes, mills, grinders, CNC) and select tools/fixtures.
• Inspect finished parts for quality and dimensions.
• Adjust machine settings to control speed and feed.
• Troubleshoot and repair equipment as needed.
• Participate in rebuilding/building functions of equipment.
• Maintain a clean, organized workspace and follow safety protocols.
• Collaborate with engineers and designers to optimize processes.
• Continuously learn machining techniques and stay up-to-date.
