Job summary

The AMES Companies, Inc. in Ocala, Florida is seeking an experienced Machinist for an onsite role in our manufacturing facility. You will set up and operate CNC and manual machining equipment to produce precision metal parts, while ensuring adherence to blueprints and tolerances.

Responsibilities include reading schematics, selecting tools and materials, inspecting parts, and collaborating with engineers to optimize processes. Overtime may be required based on business needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years of machinist experience.
• Blueprint reading experience.
• Metalworking and CAD/CAM.
• Skilled with welding and cutting tools.
• Programming and function of CNC machines.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC and manual milling machines, lathes, grinders to produce precision parts.
• Read blueprints and drawings to understand specifications and tolerances.
• Set up and operate machine tools including lathes, mills, grinders, and CNC machines.
• Select cutting tools, fixtures, and materials for each job.
• Inspect finished parts for quality and measurements.
• Adjust machine settings to control speed and feed.
• Troubleshoot machinery and perform repairs or adjustments.
• Participate in rebuilding and maintenance of equipment.
• Maintain a clean, organized workspace and follow safety protocols.
• Collaborate with engineers and team members to optimize processes.
