Job summary

UNC Health Nash is seeking a Medical Assistant/Customer Service Rep to support patient care and clinic operations. You will register patients, manage clerical tasks, coordinate appointments, and communicate with patients and clinical staff throughout the care process.

The role involves EMR scheduling, patient information collection, and coverage for colleagues during absences. High school diploma or GED required, with CMA/RMA/CCMA/NCC NCMA and BLS certifications preferred.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED required.
• Current Medical Assistant Certification (AAMA CMA, AMT RMA, NHA CCMA or NCC NCMA) and BLS preferred.
• 2 years in healthcare/medical setting as a Certified Medical Technician (CMT) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinating and scheduling clinical visits with patients and staff.
• Inputting orders into EMR scheduling system and managing queues.
• Interviewing patients and documenting information in EMR scheduling system.
• Coordinating follow-up appointments and communicating results and instructions to patients.
• Provide coverage for staff absent due to illness, FMLA, or vacation.
