Nash UNC Health Care in Nash County seeks a Medical Assistant/Customer Service Rep per diem to support patient care and clinic operations. The role involves scheduling, basic clerical duties, and ensuring smooth patient flow within the UNC Health Urgent Care Nash unit.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, a current Medical Assistant certification, BLS, and at least 2 years of healthcare experience. Onsite work with variable hours.

Qualifications

High school graduate or GED.
Current Medical Assistant Certification (AAMA CMA, AMT RMA, NHA CCMA or NCC NCMA)
BLS
2 years in the Healthcare/Medical - Certified Medical Technician (CMT)

Responsabilités

Communicates with patients and clinical staff to coordinate and schedule clinical visits.
Reviews and interprets incoming clinical orders delivered by phone and fax. Inputs orders into EMR scheduling system.
Interviews patients and documents information into EMR scheduling system.
Coordinates follow-up appointments.
Communicates with patients in a timely and effective manner regarding their care.
Notifies patients of results and appointments.
Patiently and clearly explains information using cultural competency and active listening.

Summary: The Medical Assistant/Customer Service Rep is responsible for assisting in providing quality patient care and may have routine interaction and working relationships with patients, family members, physicians, third party payers and other clinic and hospital team members. This position also performs clinic clerical tasks, such as registering patients, relieving staff members of clerical work and minor administrative and business details by scheduling appointments, giving information to callers, reading and routing incoming mail, filing correspondence and other records and other assigned clerical duties. This position will provide coverage for individuals who are off for various reasons (eg. Sick, FMLA, and vacation).

Responsibilities

Communicates with patients and clinical staff to coordinate and schedule clinical visits across a range of clinical services.
Reviews and interprets incoming clinical orders delivered by phone and fax. Inputs orders into Electronic Medical Record (EMR) scheduling system. Reviews automated work queues to guide and prioritize optimization.
Interviews patients and documents information into EMR scheduling system. Reviews records for accuracy.
Coordinates follow-up appointments.
Communicates with patients in a timely and effective manner regarding their care.
Notifies patients of results and appointments.
Patiently and clearly explains information using cultural competency and active listening.
