Job summary

Career Team seeks a dedicated Career Advisor to provide counseling, intensive case management and follow-up services for job seekers. The role requires coordinating intake, eligibility, assessments and IEP development to connect individuals with applicable training and job opportunities.

The position is 100% onsite at the Merced, CA One-Stop center, reporting to the Executive Director. A strong emphasis on community resources, data accuracy, and meeting program benchmarks is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5+ years of experience in operations.
• Strong communication skills and knowledge about community resources.
• Must be computer literate with MS Word and Excel and able to learn databases and software systems.
• Ability to work with a diverse community and meet goals.

Responsibilities

• Provide information and case management services to the community.
• Complete intake and eligibility determination for the workforce program.
• Assess jobseekers’ employment and training needs through interviewing and testing.
• Serve as a liaison between workforce development programs and community partners.
• Enter data into and process clients through participant information systems as required.
• Develop Individual Employment Plans (IEP) for customers and track eligibility for contracted programs.
• Meet and exceed program benchmarks and participate in staff events.
• Coordinate orientation sessions, workshops, and job clubs for clients.
