Job summary

Analytical Mechanics Associates (AMA) is seeking a part-time CAD Modeling Intern to support the Flight Dynamics Research Facility at NASA Langley Research Center. You will develop CAD models in .igs/.stp and other native formats, preparing configurations for oscillation tests and balance stings with movable center of gravity.

Qualifications include an engineering degree in mechanical or aerospace fields and CAD experience, with on-site work at NASA Langley required.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or holding a degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
• Minimum of 2 years of CAD modeling experience or 2 CAD courses.
• Experience with .igs or .stp files and the native CAD format.

Responsibilities

• Develop CAD models in .igs or .stp and native CAD formats.
• Create CAD models for oscillation configurations with mounting interfaces.
• Design geometry to accommodate fasteners for mounting to balance stings.
• Create CAD solid models for wind tunnel models using 3D printing or similar methods.
• Enable a movable center of gravity in models.
