Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated in El Monte, CA is seeking an Operating Engineer to ensure seamless operation of building systems and tenant comfort. You will perform preventive maintenance, respond to service requests, and monitor HVAC across critical facilities, under the Lead Engineer's direction.

The role requires 5+ years in critical or commercial operations, strong knowledge of mechanical/electrical/plumbing and life-safety systems, and ability to work with building automation.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in critical, commercial, or industrial facility operations.
• Comprehensive knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire suppression systems.
• Familiarity with building automation and energy management systems is a plus.
• Strong ability to communicate effectively in writing and speech.

Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to tenant service requests and perform routine maintenance tasks.
• Conduct preventive maintenance on HVAC equipment and building infrastructure.
• Monitor equipment readings and log changes; report issues to the Lead Engineer.
• Troubleshoot direct digital control systems and pneumatic controls; recalibrate as needed.
• Assist with general maintenance such as painting, lighting, and snow removal.
• Support outside contractors during major equipment overhauls and inspections.
• Maintain compliance with life safety, elevator, and generator testing requirements.
