Job summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking a Battlespace Cybersecurity Researcher I (onsite) in Cedar Rapids, IA to advance cybersecurity research for cyber-physical systems used in mission- and safety-critical platforms.

You will lead R&D projects across hardware, software, and systems engineering, collaborate with teams to integrate new security technologies, and support government-sponsored research demonstrations. DoD clearance and STEM background are preferred.

Qualifications

• STEM degree is required.
• U.S. citizenship is required for access to the DoD program.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance.
• 1+ years of experience with embedded systems, industrial control systems, or operational technology.
• Previous research experience in related fields.
• Strong communication and presentation abilities.
• Active DoD security clearance is preferred.
• Experience with FPGA or embedded systems is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical and strategic management of novel R&D projects focused on cyber physical security.
• Collaborate with hardware, software, communications, and systems engineering teams to integrate new cybersecurity technologies.
• Support demonstrations to drive customer engagement, innovation, and business impact.
• Assist with technical proposal preparation and government-sponsored research execution.
• Build partnerships with stakeholders across Collins and customers to maintain alignment.
• Travel up to 10% of the time.
