Job summary

Collins Aerospace seeks experienced Cyber Engineers to join the Applied Research & Technology team in Cedar Rapids. You will lead cybersecurity research for embedded and connected platforms, developing security solutions and collaborating with cross-functional teams to solve complex problems.

Ideal candidates bring experience in secure software, threat modeling, and vulnerability analysis, with a track record of evaluating cybersecurity software for aerospace or defense applications.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field.
• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
• Experience supporting technical research and development projects, from concept through testing or demonstration.
• 2+ years of experience in cybersecurity, embedded systems, cyber systems, or a related engineering discipline.

Responsibilities

• Support research and development projects focused on cyber security technologies.
• Work with multidisciplinary teams of hardware, software, communications, and systems engineers to develop, integrate, and evaluate cybersecurity technologies.
• Support technology demonstrations and testing to evaluate new cybersecurity solutions and capabilities.
• Assist with technical proposal preparation and government-sponsored research and development activities.
• Collaborate with technology stakeholders across Collins and with customers to support project goals and objectives.
• Travel up to 10% of the time.
