Collins Aerospace is seeking a Battlespace Cybersecurity Researcher I (onsite) in Cedar Rapids, IA to advance cybersecurity research for cyber-physical systems used in mission- and safety-critical platforms.

You will lead R&D projects across hardware, software, and systems engineering, collaborate with teams to integrate new security technologies, and support government-sponsored research demonstrations. DoD clearance and STEM background are preferred.

Qualifications

• STEM degree is required.
• U.S. citizenship is required for access to the DoD program.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance.
• 1+ years of experience with embedded systems, industrial control systems, or operational technology.
• Previous research experience in related fields.
• Strong communication and presentation abilities.
• Active DoD security clearance is preferred.
• Experience with FPGA or embedded systems is desirable.

Collins Aerospace is hiring a Battlespace Cybersecurity Researcher I (onsite) to support cybersecurity research for connected cyber physical systems, including mission- and safety-critical platforms.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical and strategic management of novel research and development projects focused on cyber physical security
• Work in multi-disciplinary teams spanning hardware, software, communications, and systems engineering to develop, integrate, and evaluate new cyber security technologies
• Support advanced technology demonstrations to drive early customer engagement, innovation, and business impact
• Assist with technical proposal preparation and execution of government-sponsored science and technology research
• Build partnerships with technology stakeholders across Collins and customers to maintain collaboration and strategic alignment
• Travel up to 10% of the time

Requirements

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
• U.S. citizenship required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under the program/contract
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance
• 1+ years experience working with embedded systems, industrial control systems, or operational technology
• Previous research experience

Compensation

• Salary range: USD 57,200 - 108,800 per year
