Job summary

Automotive & Embedded Systems is seeking an Automotive HIL Test Engineer in Auburn Hills, MI. You will design and validate HIL benches for ADAS/Chassis/Infotainment, enabling on- and offboard validation without prototype vehicles.

The role requires hands-on HIL development, ECU integration, and experience with multiple toolchains (dSPACE, Vector). You will work with real-time systems, bus simulation and remote access capabilities to smartly validate features across domains.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) Development Engineer, including ECU integration, validation, and test bench development.
• Hands-on experience with automotive toolchains and real-time systems for HIL validation.
• Knowledge of automotive communication protocols and diagnostics (CAN, CAN FD, LIN, Ethernet SOME/IP/DoIP, UDS).

Responsibilities

• Design and develop ADAS/AD, Chassis, Infotainment, Connectivity and STLA-Cockpit HIL Test Benches for validation of features on- and offboard without prototype vehicles.
• Build and maintain standard HIL design and integration approaches across multiple toolchains.
• Integrate ECUs using HIL benches from multiple vendors and toolchains (dSPACE, Vector).
• Develop and support real-time systems, I/O configuration, and bus simulation (Ethernet, SOME/IP, OTA, cloud interfaces).
• Enable remote control of HIL test benches with security/functional restrictions considerations.
