Job summary

Global Connect Technologies in Dearborn, MI, seeks a hands-on HIL Validation Engineer to drive automotive ECU testing using HIL simulations. You will develop test cases, run validations, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure robust software-hardware integration.

The role emphasizes scripting (Python/CAPL), CAN/LIN/Ethernet protocols, and systematic defect tracking. You will contribute to test plans, regression testing, and validation reporting, helping accelerate product quality

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
Experience in automotive HIL testing and validation.
Hands-on experience with HIL systems such as dSPACE, NI, or Vector.
Knowledge of CAN, LIN, and automotive communication protocols.
Proficiency in Python, CAPL, or other test automation scripting languages.
Experience using CANoe, CANalyzer, or similar automotive testing tools.
Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and root cause analysis skills.
Familiarity with test case development, test execution, regression testing, and defect tracking.
Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional engineering teams.

Responsibilities

Develop, execute, and maintain HIL test cases and test procedures for automotive electronic control units (ECUs).
Perform functional validation and verification of embedded software and control systems using HIL test benches.
Configure and operate HIL systems to simulate vehicle components, sensors, actuators, and operating conditions.
Develop and maintain automated test scripts using Python, CAPL, or other scripting languages.
Analyze test results, identify failures, troubleshoot issues, and perform root cause analysis.
Work with CAN, LIN, Ethernet, and other automotive communication protocols.
Collaborate with software, systems, and hardware engineering teams to resolve defects and improve product quality.
Support test plan development, test execution, regression testing, and validation reporting.
Document test results, defects, and validation activities using appropriate test management tools.
Ensure compliance with automotive testing processes and quality standards.
