Job summary

GM Performance Power Units in Concord, NC seeks an on-site Data Engineer to build and operate reliable data pipelines for power unit test and performance activities using AWS as the primary cloud environment. You will make engineering data accessible, traceable and ready for analysis while preserving context for interpretation of results.

Collaborate with Test, Performance, Controls and IT teams to connect test results with engine, build and component information in Microsoft Fabric.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain ingestion pipelines for dyno, test rig, instrumentation and performance sources.
• Preserve source files, timestamps, units, calibration references, run identifiers and context.
• Develop datasets and pipelines using Python and SQL with idempotency, checkpoints and controlled replay.
• Link test runs to approved engine builds and components, ensuring traceable mappings.
• Publish test and performance summaries from AWS for business and manufacturing data platform.
• Monitor data freshness, pipeline failures, and cloud costs; optimize storage and compute.
• Use source control, peer review, and CI/CD with separate dev/prod configurations.
• Document pipelines, dependencies and recovery procedures; train deputies and support model.
