Job summary
GM Performance Power Units in Concord, NC is seeking a Vehicle Performance Simulation Graduate Placement Engineer for a 12-month onsite internship. You will work with the Vehicle Performance and Simulation team to develop, test, and optimize Formula 1 power unit performance, including model development, correlation, and race preparation.
You will gain hands-on experience in circuit-specific studies, data analysis with MATLAB and Python, and automated workflows, with opportunities to own projects
Qualifications
- Candidates are upcoming or recent graduates seeking a 12-month development program.
- Strong fundamentals in dynamics, thermodynamics, controls and data analysis.
- Proficiency in Python and MATLAB for engineering analysis and automation.
Responsibilities
- Support development, maintenance, and validation of vehicle and power unit simulation models.
- Conduct circuit-specific performance studies using lap time tools.
- Compare predictions with dyno/test/track data and assist model correlation.
- Process and visualize data using MATLAB and Python.
- Develop automated analysis and reporting workflows.
- Own engineering projects in simulation, analytics, or automation.
- Communicate findings through reports and presentations to cross-functional teams.
