Job summary

PPG's Automotive OEM Optima Solutions team in Michigan is seeking a Technical Service Representative onsite at Magna Mirrors in Newaygo. You will deliver technical service on automotive coatings, build customer partnerships, and support sales through solution delivery.

You will troubleshoot issues, collaborate with internal teams, maintain safety and ensure customer satisfaction while advancing inventory and process improvements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years of related plant environment experience.
• Prior application troubleshooting experience; automotive coatings/adhesives/sealants advantageous.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Team-based and collaborative mindset.
• Comfortable in a production environment and able to lift ~30 lbs.
• Willingness to work evenings or weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical service/support on a wide range of products and application techniques to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Build sales position by establishing strong customer relationships and quickly resolving issues.
• Implement strategies to manage inventory programs, increase turns, and reduce obsolescence.
• Communicate updates to internal PPG technical teams and account management.
• Provide resolutions to customer inquiries and monitor application processes.
• Explain complex ideas across technical, production and non-technical stakeholders while ensuring safety.
• Support customer projects and process improvements when required.
• Service other PPG automotive coatings customers in surrounding areas as needed.
