Job summary

KBW Financial Staffing & Recruiting is partnering with a well-established organization to identify an Accounting Manager to oversee day-to-day accounting operations and lead the month-end and year-end close processes.

This hands-on leader will own the general ledger, oversee inventory and cost accounting, and review the work of the accounting team to ensure accurate financial reporting and strong internal controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
• 6–8+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Experience with month-end close and reviewing staff work.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
• CPA designation preferred.
• Experience with Epicor or similar ERP systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage the full month-end and year-end close processes.
• Oversee general ledger activities including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Review journal entries, reconciliations, and accounting work prepared by staff.
• Oversee inventory accounting, reconciliations, cycle counts, and obsolescence.
• Manage COGS, inventory valuation, and gross margin analysis.
• Ensure proper revenue recognition in line with U.S. GAAP.
• Prepare and review monthly financial reporting packages with variance analyses.
• Coordinate annual audits with external auditors and serve as primary contact.
• Establish and maintain strong internal controls and accounting policies.
