Job summary

American Electric Power Internship – Accounting & Finance: onsite opportunities in Columbus, New Albany, or Gahanna, OH. You will assist with financial statements, records, month-end close, and data analysis while contributing to transformation projects.

The 10–12 week program offers a $1,500/month housing stipend, paid holidays, and EWYL options to continue with AEP while studying. Excel proficiency and detail orientation are essential, with teamwork and independence valued.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
• Familiarity with accounting software.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports.
• Help maintain accurate financial records and databases.
• Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Participate in the reconciliation of accounts.
• Conduct data analysis and assist with budgeting activities and support technology driven transformation projects.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the accounting team.
