Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• At least 3 years of experience in a finance or accounting role.
• Experience with Microsoft Excel required.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive information.
• Ability to report onsite at BWXT's Erwin, TN office location.
• Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain DOE security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure all transactions are properly recorded.
• Prepare and review journal entries to support the month-end close process.
• Complete monthly and quarterly account reconciliations.
• Analyze capital spending and perform ROI evaluations.
• Produce timely financial reports, ad‑hoc analyses, and actionable insights for management.
• Uphold data integrity through thorough reconciliations and review procedures.
• Ensure compliance with SOX controls and support audits.
• Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements.
• Assist with quarterly forecasting activities.
• Contribute to continuous improvement across financial systems.
