Sora Resource Group is seeking a 2D Mechanical Drafter / Engineer for a Washington County, WI-based, on-site position designing custom industrial equipment. You will draft 2D AutoCAD layouts for thermal systems, ductwork, piping, and BOMs, coordinating with shop floor fabricators.

The role requires a BS Mechanical Engineering and 3+ years of 2D AutoCAD drafting in manufacturing, plus a stable work history and a 45-minute commute to Washington County.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or related four-year engineering discipline.
• 3+ years of drafting experience using 2D AutoCAD in a manufacturing environment.
• Practical design background with heavy industrial equipment, ductwork, piping, or thermal systems.
• Fabrication-aware design-for-manufacturability mindset.
• Stable work history with evidence of reliability and long-term performance.
• Local commute within 45 minutes to Washington County, WI.

Responsabilités

• Design custom industrial equipment and thermal systems using 2D AutoCAD for client orders.
• Create fabrication layouts, structural schematics, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Collaborate with shop floor supervisors, welders, and machinists to validate designs.
• Develop supporting 3D renderings as needed for reviews and spatial constraints.
• Own design scopes across core product lines and ensure performance requirements are met.
• Review and update legacy drawings to improve yield and reduce cycle times.
