You will work 100% onsite in a clean, modern facility, collaborating closely with shop floor fabricators and welders to translate drawings into built steel. A stable, low-stress environment supports long-term growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or related four-year engineering discipline.
• 3+ years of 2D AutoCAD drafting experience in an active manufacturing plant.
• Practical design background with heavy industrial equipment, ductwork, piping, heat transfer, or fluids.
• Design-for-manufacturability mindset considering welder access, shop tolerances, and assembly efficiency.
• Stable work history demonstrating career longevity and craftsmanship.
• Residence within 45-minute drive of Washington County, WI.

Responsibilities

• Design and draft custom industrial equipment using 2D AutoCAD for client orders.
• Produce fabrication layouts, structural schematics, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Collaborate with shop floor supervisors, welders, and machinists to verify designs align with capabilities.
• Create supporting 3D renderings as needed for reviews.
• Manage design scopes across product lines, ensuring performance requirements are met.
• Refine legacy drawings to improve yield and shorten manufacturing cycles.
