Job summary

University of Central Florida (UCF) seeks two Assistant Instructional Designers for a 12-month, non-tenure-track appointment in the Center for Distributed Learning (CDL). The roles focus on pedagogical partnerships, faculty development, and ensuring course quality for online and blended courses.

Responsibilities include collaborating with instructors, applying design models, and leading training initiatives while contributing to unit operations and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Master's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area.
• A minimum of two years of experience working in online instructional/curriculum design or faculty development, preferably in higher education.
• All applicants must be authorized to work for any U.S. employer; H-1B sponsorship is not available.
• Residency in Florida is expected at employment start.

Responsibilities

• Establish supportive relationships with instructors to design and improve online/blended courses.
• Apply instructional design models to create/curate course materials and ensure quality through review and designation processes.
• Lead planning, development, and delivery of robust faculty development opportunities and training.
• Support unit operations, strategic planning, policy development, and cross-team initiatives.
• Use feedback and evaluation to improve courses, strategies, programs, and outcomes.
• Manage workflows to ensure projects are completed on time and meet stakeholder expectations.
