Job summary

Baystate Health is seeking a Behavioral Resource Technician to provide safety observation and direct patient care within a behavioral health setting in Springfield, MA. The role focuses on maintaining a safe environment, communicating effectively with patients, families, and staff, and documenting patient status every 15 minutes during shifts.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of relevant patient care experience, preferably with behavioral health patients, and must be able to de-escalate

Qualifications

• 1 year of relevant patient care experience.
• Experience with behavioral health patients preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides Age Appropriate Care To Patients
• Develops And Maintains Good Human Relations Skills.
• Provides safety observation of the patient(s) intervening as necessary and documents patient status every 15 minutes.
• Receives report from RN and off-going BRT and reports off to RN and on-coming BRT 100% of the time.
• Maintains a safe environment for the patient and follows the care policy for suicidal patients.
• Understands care for diagnoses such as suicidal, eating disorders, withdrawal, etc.
• Communicates with patients with confidentiality and empathy.
• Participates in competency trainings, in-services, and staff meetings.
• Demonstrates competency for one-to-one observation per policy.
