Job summary

Lamphere Schools is seeking a Short Term One-on-One Paraprofessional (Edustaff) for a six-week assignment at Simonds Elementary. The role provides academic and behavioral support to students under teacher supervision, with responsibilities including instructional assistance, data entry, and enforcing behavior plans.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, specialized training, and the ability to work with students with various impairments.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Advanced training in an approved instructional aide program.
• Experience with students with emotional impairments, autism, cognitive or physical disabilities.
• Willingness to train in CPR and crisis intervention techniques.
• Good health and stamina for duties and attendance obligations.
• Ability to handle students with aggressive or anti-social behaviors.
• Basic computer literacy and familiarity with instructional equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation, implementation, and record-keeping of instructional activities.
• Conduct small-group training at various sites under teacher direction.
• Provide instructional assistance and supervise student activities.
• Monitor students' physical conditions and implement assigned procedures.
• Follow behavior management plans, including crisis interventions.
• Enter data and prepare reports on a computer as directed.

Education

High School diploma or equivalent

Advanced training in approved instructional aide program

Experience with students with emotional impairments/autism/cognitive/physical disabilities

Willingness to be trained in CPR and Nonviolent Crisis Intervention

Good health and stamina

Ability to manage students with challenging behaviors

Basic computer literacy

Familiarity with instructional support equipment (video, laminator, projectors)
