Job summary

Lamphere Schools is contracting Edustaff for short-term paraprofessional staff to provide academic and behavioral support to students at Simonds Elementary (GSRP Room). The wage offered is $15.25/hr and the position requires handling physical management and medical support procedures as trained.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or approved advanced training in a special education aide program; candidates should be able to work with diverse student needs and maintain reliable

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent with approved special education aide training.
• Experience assisting students with emotional impairments, autism, or disabilities.
• Ability to perform physical care procedures and monitor medical conditions.
• Willingness to be trained in CPR and crisis intervention techniques.
• Good health and reliable attendance record.
• Ability to manage students with challenging behaviors in various settings.
• Basic computer literacy and ability to use instructional equipment.
• Any other qualifications the district deems appropriate.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing, implementing and recording instructional activities under staff direction.
• Conduct training activities with small groups at multiple sites, including non-classroom settings.
• Provide instructional assistance under supervision.
• Supervise and monitor students with diabetes or seizure disorders and implement medical procedures as assigned.
• Implement behavior management plans, including physical management when required.
• Assist in data collection related to behavior, function and progress as directed.
• Participate in professional development, meetings and program committees as directed.
• Care for instructional materials and enter data into computer systems as designated.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
