Job summary

Allina Health is seeking a Nursing Assistant on an oncology unit in Minnesota. The 0.6 FTE role covers 8-hour day and night shifts, with every other weekend.

Under RN supervision, you will assist with basic patient care, vital signs, and daily activities, ensuring patient comfort and safety across a 24-bed unit. The position emphasizes compassionate, patient-centered care with opportunities for growth within a leading health system.

Qualifications

• Must meet one of the following: 18 years of age or 17 years with high school diploma or GED.
• Must meet one of the following: CNA program completion or clinical rotations or Allina Health Nursing Assistant Academy or previous direct patient care experience.

Responsibilities

• Under RN supervision, assists in patient care including feeding, bathing, dressing, grooming, moving and transporting patients, and changing linens.
• Collects and documents vital signs and other patient observations.
• Assists with admission, transfer, discharge and post-mortem care with RN support.
• May transport medications within the site (excluding controlled substances).
• Performs personal care/interventions as assigned and supports fall prevention plans.
• Observes health status data and reports any deviations to the RN.
• Ensures safety for patients, visitors and staff; uses proper equipment and body mechanics.

Education

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program

Completion of one semester of clinical rotations within an accredited nursing program

Completion of the Allina Health Nursing Assistant Academy Program

Previous direct patient care experience
