Job summary

Cancer Care Specialists of IL is seeking a Registered Nurse for a PRN, as-needed position in Decatur, IL. The RN will manage and coordinate nursing care for oncology and hematology patients under supervision, providing direct patient care and contributing to unit operations.

Responsibilities include patient assessments, treatment administration, documentation in the EMR, and patient/family education. Prior chemotherapy certification is preferred; EPIC proficiency is expected.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Current licensure in the State of Illinois for practice as a professional nurse.
• CPR certification is required.
• Prefer chemotherapy certification or willingness to become certified.

Responsibilities

• Assess, analyze, plan, implement, evaluate and document nursing care for Oncology patients.
• Coordinate plan of care and scheduling of chemotherapy and other treatments.
• Administer treatments and injections as ordered; manage central lines and specimen collection as needed.
• Document patient data accurately in the EMR using EPIC.
• Educate patients and families about treatments, potential side effects and care plans.
