Illinois Cancer Specialists in Crystal Lake, IL is seeking a Registered Nurse (Part-Time, PRN) to provide professional nursing care in accordance with national and company standards. Under supervision, you will collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to assess and manage patient needs and support compliance programs.

The role requires BSN preferred, RN license, BLS, and 3–5 years of nursing experience with oncology experience preferred. Oncology certification is a plus.

Formación

• Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education; BSN preferred.
• RN license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; must maintain continuing education requirements.
• 3-5 years nursing experience including at least one year in oncology preferred.
• Oncology certification preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate and promote continuity of care.
• Assesses health status by interviewing patient regarding current status and medical history.
• Collects and records nursing assessment and interventions.
• Reviews and reports results of health status assessment and relevant data; provides teaching as needed.
• Provides psychosocial support to patients and families.
• Maintains patient confidentiality.
• Prepares and administers therapies under physician supervision.
• Administers medications and manages dosing as directed; ensures consent where applicable.
• Facilitates dose modification by coordinating labs, protocol, and physician guidance.
• Maintains accurate documentation of patient care and treatments.
• Handles reimbursement procedures and charge capture.
• Restocks the supply area; maintains work environment.
• Follows OSHA guidelines for cytotoxic agents and biohazardous materials.
• Maintains disinfection protocols and equipment maintenance.
• Supports patient flow and coordinates consultations, pre-testing, and referrals.
• Triages patient phone calls and documents information.
• Assists in communication between patient/family and team; coordinates services.
• Assists patients in locating community resources.
• Collaborates with clinical research; mentors LPN/LVNs and medical assistants.
• Provides nursing coverage for satellite offices as needed.
• Acts as a mentor/preceptor to less experienced nurses.
