Job summary

Springfield Clinic is seeking an Oncology RN to provide professional nursing care in accordance with the Illinois Nurse Practice Act. You will manage daily office operations and collaborate with care teams, hospitals, nursing homes, and home care agencies to coordinate patient care.

The role requires an ADN, diploma or BSN and an Illinois RN license, plus oncology certification or annual oncology CEUs. You will participate in education, documentation, and patient advocacy as part of the clinic's

Qualifications

• Registered nurse educated with ADN, diploma or BSN.
• Current license as a Registered Nurse in Illinois.
• Oncology Nursing Certification or 12 hours of Oncology CE annually with CEUs due Dec 31 each year.

Responsibilities

• Interview for nursing history and assess health knowledge; document findings.
• Obtain medical information, vital signs and test results for physician visits; document in the chart.
• Advocate for patients and address service-related complaints.
• Determine referrals to Home Health or other providers as needed.
• Screen patient problems and provide guidance or referrals to physicians.
• Provide education on prevention and health maintenance; document outcomes.
• Give pre/postoperative instructions and home care guidance.
• Document patient education in medical records.
• Administer respiratory therapies and related procedures as per policy.
• Coordinate nursing care with all Clinic departments and external partners.
