Job summary

Minnesota Oncology is seeking an experienced registered nurse to provide professional oncology nursing care under minimal supervision, following national and company standards. You will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to assess and manage patient needs, support family education, and ensure confidentiality while supporting satellite offices as needed.

The role emphasizes mentoring colleagues, ongoing professional development, and adherence to the US Oncology Compliance Program and Code

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
• RN license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Five years nursing experience; at least one year of oncology experience.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and promote the continuity of care consistent with established standards and practices.
• Assess health status by interviewing patient regarding current status and medical history.
• Collect nursing assessment and intervention records.
• Review and report health status assessment results, lab data, radiographic data, and psychosocial assessments.
• Assess patient/family needs and provide teaching and instructional material.
• Provide psychosocial support to patients and families.
• Maintain patient confidentiality.
• Facilitate clinical operations: manage medication refill requests and coordinate tests, referrals and future appointments.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team and assist with clinical research as needed.
• Mentor/preceptor to less experienced nurses and provide day-to-day guidance.
