Job summary

Minnesota Oncology is seeking an experienced registered nurse to join our oncology team in Edina, MN. The role emphasizes direct patient care, collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team, and adherence to compliance standards.

Oncology-specific certification is preferred and ongoing education is encouraged. The position involves supervising nursing care, coordinating with physicians, and assisting with procedures in a fast-paced clinic environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education; BSN preferred.
• RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Must maintain continuing education requirements.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, coordinate and promote the continuity of care.
• Assess health status by interviewing patient regarding current status and medical history.
• Collect nursing assessment and interventions in the chart.
• Review and report health status data and pertinent results to the provider.
• Assess patient/family needs and provide teaching materials.
• Provide psychosocial support to patients and families.
• Assist physicians with exams and procedures; coordinate referrals and appointments.
• Triages patient calls and documents information in the chart.
• Facilitate communication between patient/family and care team; locate community resources.
• Mentor/precept less experienced nurses and participate in professional development.
