Job summary
Northwestern Medicine seeks a Registered Nurse for Oncology on a full-time weekend night schedule. The role provides patient-centered care for acutely ill oncology patients, coordinating with a multidisciplinary team and ensuring evidence-based nursing practice.
The nurse will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care while documenting outcomes and maintaining professional standards. A BSN and IL RN license are required, with BLS and potential ER/PED-specific certifications as applicable.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is required.
- Current State of Illinois Registered Professional Nurse license is required.
- Basic Life Support certification required.
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
- Analytical abilities to assess and plan care.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care to acutely ill oncology patients using the nursing process.
- Collaborate with patient, families, and health team members.
- Coordinate and modify care plans based on patient response.
- Direct care and supervise assistants involved in direct patient care.
- Document and evaluate patient responses to nursing interventions.
