Job summary
Northwestern Medicine is seeking an Oncology Registered Nurse for weekend-day shifts in Lake Forest, IL. This role provides direct patient care to acutely ill oncology patients using the nursing process and collaborates with an interdisciplinary team.
Requires BSN, IL RN license, and BLS; ER/Pediatric ER credentials preferred. Offers competitive benefits and tuition assistance within NM's system.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing required.
- Current Illinois RN license required.
- Basic Life Support certification required.
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
- ACLS/PALS/ENPC/TNCC within one year for ER roles.
- PALS and TNCC within one year for Pediatric ER.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care to acutely ill patients using the nursing process.
- Interact with patients and families and coordinate with health team members.
- Develop, implement and evaluate individualized care plans.
- Direct care and coordinate with any assistants involved.
- Collaborate with patients, families, physicians and staff to ensure outcomes.
- Participate in governance, committees and unit projects.
- Document responses to interventions and update plans of care.
- Utilize evidence to guide practice decisions.
