Job summary

Northwestern Medicine seeks a Registered Nurse for the Medical Care Center on the night shift (7pm–7:30am) with rotating weekends. Responsibilities include assessment, planning, and coordination of care for adult medical and oncology patients in a 24-bed unit.

Qualifications

• Illinois RN license required.
• American Heart Association BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Collects and analyzes data; develops and implements an individualized plan and evaluates progress.
• Directs care and determines appropriate use of assistants in direct patient care.
• Collaborates with patient, family, physicians and staff; documents plan and communicates decisions.
• Participates in shared governance, committees and unit projects.
• Evaluates and documents patient responses to nursing interventions; updates care plan as needed.
• Uses evidence-based practice to guide nursing decisions.
