UNC Health in Raleigh, NC is seeking a Nursing Assistant I to join the Rex 5 East/Oncology unit. The role supports oncology and hematology patients under RN/physician supervision. The position is full-time with a 36-hour work week and night schedule.

Requirements include NC Nursing Assistant I licensure and BLS certification; six months of nursing assistant experience is preferred. Fluency in English and basic computer skills are needed.

Qualifications

• Fluent in verbal and written English language.
• Ability to develop basic computer skills.
• Basic nursing support and patient care tasks knowledge is desirable.

Responsabilités

• Assist physicians and health care providers with routine examinations and procedures.
• Aid patients in reality orientation and participate in behavior modification plans/therapy in psychiatric settings.
• Observe and document patient information and report significant changes.
• Assist patients and families during admission, orientation, and discharge.
• Provide care including vital signs, wound care, glucose checks, ROM, and activities of daily living.
• Provide direct personal care for daily living activities (bathing, dressing, feeding, ambulation).
• Maintain unit and equipment, restock supplies, and assist in orientation of new staff.
• Reinforce and document patient education given by nurses or physicians.
