Job summary

UNC Health Care is seeking a Nursing Assistant I for the Rex 6 West/Orthopaedics unit in Raleigh, NC. The role involves routine patient care under RN/physician supervision, with duties across the unit including vital signs, ADLs, and patient education.

Night shift, 24 hours per week, onsite. Prerequisites include NC Nursing Assistant I licensure and BLS certification; six months of nursing assistant experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Fluent in English (written and spoken).
• Basic computer skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and other health care providers with routine examinations and procedures, and procurement of equipment and supplies during emergencies.
• Observe, collect, and document patient information and promptly report significant changes to a registered nurse or physician.
• Provide direct personal care for activities of daily living and assist with ambulation.
• Provide care/treatments per care plan including vital signs, specimen collection, wound care and range of motion exercises.
• Support patients and families during admission, orientation and discharge.
